A family at my favorite spot

I have a favorite location that I use a lot.  Earlier this week I took this family up there.  It was a morning shoot, though, so the light was the opposite of what it is when I have been up there in the past.  I love how beautiful it is from every direction. 

I think I'm in love with every image from this session, but I'll leave a few out so my post isn't toooo long.  I am realizing more and more how much I love photographing families.  I love capturing the natural, beautiful relationships that parents have with their kids.  This family in particular was really, really sweet and I think that shows.

 

 
 

Meet up in Salt Lake City area...

This time of year last year I planned a really awesome (laid back) meet up for childrens photographers in the area.  I've been itching to do it again, but this year has turned out to be really busy and hard to plan around, so I don't think I'll be able to do anything structured at all in the near future.

But,

I had a client reschedule their Saturday appointment and I really want to do something last minute.  That's this Saturday, the 10th, in two days in the later part of the day.  It will be just outside of Salt Lake somewhere scenic, remote and calm.  You can bring your family or come alone, whatever you want.

You don't have to be officially in business or anything, just learning and interested and not busy on Saturday.

This little girl was constantly on the run, so we had to go back to their hotel room for a few more pictures.  Isn't she darling?  I loved their room at Hotel Monaco, too, with its green striped walls.

I love this storyboard her parents ordered!  It's going to look so good on their walls.

Out of Town, Lensbaby, Pixie Cut

I am leaving early in the morning for a weekend trip to sunny Phoenix.  All orders and inquiries will be attended to when I arrive back in Salt Lake City. 

I have had a few awesome shoots lately, but no time to post.  That's another thing that will have to happen when I get home!  I have to post about my awesome new lens.  It's a Lensbaby and we are going to get along quite well.  I can't believe I waited so long to purchase it.

Oh, and I have been talking forever about cutting my hair really short and I finally got the guts to do it!  It's pixie short and I am loving it.  I look totally different, so don't be alarmed when I come to your shoot and don't look anything like the profile picture on my website!  :)
